<p>1. Set Realistic goals – be realistic in how much weight you want to lose and by when. Most of the time, people tend to lose only water weight in the short term to later find they pile on weight again afterwards. Just target to lose 1 pound in a week. Once you have achieved this goal, you slowly increase it to losing 2 pounds.  Losing weight should be incremental process, not instant. Imagine how much you could be losing in a year!</p>
<p>2. Food Portion and <a href="http://www.vitaminbenefits.info/good-nutrition-is-the-secret-for-a-pain-free-life/" target="_blank">Nutrition</a> – don’t think you would banish that weight if you were to skip a meal!  When you deprive your body of food, your body will react by just going into survival mode. Your metabolism rate will slow down to cope with the sudden change. You will get hunger pangs, and you can kiss goodbye to your diet. What you really need to do is cut your portion in half.  If you are used to having a plate of rice, simply have half a plate instead.  You can have more greens in your portion with a lean piece of meat or fish.  Snack on fruits and nuts every two to three hours.  You will feel full throughout the day and will not binge on food which are unhealthy.  That way, your body knows that there’s a continous supply of food and will not go into survival mode.</p>
<p>3. Junk Food Obsession – Spend more time to cook yourself a healthy lunch or dinner instead of swallowing that pizza, McD’s or fried up take-aways!  You can spend a bit of time in the weekend to marinade your lean piece of chicken or meat and freeze it and just cook what you need for your daily meal. That way, you will stay off buying junk food for quick fix and instead eat a healthy balanced diet.  Besides, it’s a lot cheaper when you come to think about spending all that money on junk food!</p>
<p>4. Exercise – Just 30 minutes of walking, gardening or doing house work can help you burn calories, stay young, toned and healthy.</p>
<p>The main thing about achieving weight loss is to reward yourself after you’ve reached every milestone.  You can have that little piece of chocolate or ice cream but just don’t overdo it. The more you deny your body, the more your body would crave for it and you will just end up cheating.  So go easy with yourself and work on that new you!</p>
